Quaffers

“Quaffers” provides the ideal year-round location for relaxation and exploration of this amazing region.

If you want to experience a true Winter without leaving the Sunshine State, then you’ve come to the right place. You’ll have to rug up, but head outdoors and you’ll be rewarded with amazing sights of car windscreens frozen solid, frost on rooftops, frozen spider webs and smoke billowing from the chimneys as fires are stoked to keep warm by. Have a lazy breakfast as the morning sun shines on your deck then take a tour, either self – driven or with one of our local tour companies, visiting our local attractions. After a busy day relax in the warmth of the fireplace in your cabin whilst sipping on one of our local wines.

In Spring take a bushwalk, breathe in the crisp country air and discover the first wildflowers in one of the national parks, all within an easy drive of Quaffers.

For those who want a little exercise, hike up to the top of Bald Rock (Australia’s largest Granite Rock) and take in the awe-inspiring view of both Queensland and New South Wales from one of the many viewpoints along the way. Then relax as the sun goes down on your own deck with some local cheese and wine whilst watching the birds flit from tree to tree.

Why not swap the surf, sand and humidity for kayaks, wine and cool bushland. Summer is the perfect time for a swim or paddle in the dam. Pack a picnic and spend the day by the water or in one of the day use areas in the National Parks. Stone fruit and berries abound at this time of the year. Why not pick your own Strawberries, or enjoy a home-made ice-cream or a slice of famous apple pie? Let’s not forget the boys, we also have a few local breweries for you!
